Your work will have real-world impact, and you'll be supported in achieving your career goals.How will you make an impact?Under the direction of the Product Engineering Manager, the position will create and revise simple to complex assembly drawings for new bioprocess containers using AutoCAD. This individual may also be asked to check peer drafters' designs. The drafter will also be required to run costing for updated/created designs. Assist in training of BPC Designers. Work on projects as assigned by the manager.What will you do?

  • Create and revise simple to complex bioprocess container chambers and assemblies according to redlines and/or product brief, understanding the various product families with their associated design requirements.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Mechanical in creating product drawings using predesigned blocks or manually creating geometry as the design dictates while following bioprocess container design guidelines
  • Create/Test blocks as requested
  • Effectively navigate within SalesForce to download design requirements and upload completed drawings
  • Navigate through PDM Enterprise (electronic file management system) to check drawings in and out maintaining accurate drawing versions and histories. Able to search to find designs as needed.
  • Utilize Master Control (document management system) to pull specification numbers, complete training sign-offs, and perform a complex search.
  • Create templates to aid in the designing process
  • Effectively communicate with team members and engineers
  • Participate in meetings providing suggestions for team improvements
  • Proactively participate in the companies continuous improvement programs taking the lead on assigned projects

How will you get here?Education
  • High School Diploma and 3 years of drafting experience, or two years drafting experience and one year bioprocess container manufacturing experience required.
  • Associate degree, Technical Drafting degree, and 1-year drafting experience preferred.
Experience
  • Demonstrates the following:
    • Effective use of AutoCAD in completing simple designs
    • Knowledge of common assembly components and processes
    • Competence in Microsoft and other office application software
    • Able to present product designs in clear, organized formats
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities to meet customer needs
    • Seeks appropriate information to understand the course of action.
    • Organizational and communication skills
    • ability to work as a team, collaborate with colleagues and share workload
    • ability to check their own drawings for accuracy
  • Support 24hr/7day a week global operation
  • Successful completion of on-site AutoCAD test
