- Client's Research Institute of North America, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is seeking a full-time research scientist to support the in-house research activities. This individual will join a team responsible to develop next generation fuel cell technologies to enhance the performance of fuel cell electric vehicle. The position requires staying abreast of new fuel cell technologies, performing original research, publishing/presenting results, involve in collaborative research.
- The position is subject to annually contract renewal.
- Develop simulation tools to explore water transport inside porous materials, with the goal to design efficient, low transport resistance porous materials.
- Develop multi-scale models to bridge transport phenomena in porous media with device-level fuel cell performance.
- Design experiments to validate concepts and simulation results.
- Work in close collaboration with colleagues specialized in material science to push forward R&D efforts.
- Ph.D. or equivalent inMechanical, Chemical or Materials Engineering or a related discipline with an emphasis on simulation skills on fuel cell or two-phase transport phenomena.
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Fuel cell systems; Micro-scale two-phase transport
- Ability to create computational models of fuel cell system or two-phase transport
- Experience on Lattice-Boltzmann Method, finite element analysis software (COMSOL, ANSYS), or MATLAB
- Strong track record of research capability in heat transfer or related areas.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
