Small yet dynamic manufacturing firm in the Waterbury area is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for maximizing the uptime and effective output of all plant assets. Ideal candidates for this position will have experience troubleshooting and maintaining typical converting equipment, as well as normal facility maintenance items. Must possess the knowledge and ability to maintain and repair pneumatic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems on company equipment. The successful candidate should be collaborative and will work closely with the production department to help develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities on a scheduled or emergency basis as needed
Perform controls troubleshooting using a Digital Multi Meter
Test and inspect equipment for proper functionality
Perform duties such as drilling and tapping of metal
Perform maintenance duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and perform adjustments
Facilities Maintenance- Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functions
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
Maintain and catalog spare parts inventory
Interact with suppliers and internal department personnel
Conduct root cause of equipment failure and develop course of action to prevent future failures with direction from management
Help develop and implement the plant preventative maintenance program
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. Technical School and military experience preferred
10+ years of manufacturing experience, specifically pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills. Electrical experience, motion control, relay logic & PLC experience a plus
Must be a self-starter with excellent time management skills
Must be able to work independently and follow company standards for safety and conduct
Must be able to effectively navigate and communicate using email, word, and excel
Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills required
