JLA International, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for Chemist- Resource Laboratory Analyst at a facility in Albany, GA.
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field required
Previous laboratory experience preferred.
Knowledge/ Skills:
Previous experience in a university, food manufacturing or other analytical laboratory
Demonstrated knowledge and application of standard analytical methods and “learning edge” methods including, but not limited to chemical analyses of foods, gas chromatography, liquid chromatography
Strong in chemistry, math, statistics, general analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across and within functions that represent diverse viewpoints, work through various personality types to accomplish a task
Tenacious in finding solutions
Ability to multi-task and prioritize with limited supervision
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent project management skills
Job Overview
Ensure that proper analytical methods are conducted on the appropriate sample
Set up, calibrate and operate instruments in accordance with JLAI methods and SOPs
Maintain quality control records and procedures for each test
Prepare standards/ reagents that are needed for the procedure
Utilize various instruments such as HPLC and GC
Maintain laboratory instruments and equipment and make any minor repairs that are necessary
Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of chromatographic and analytical equipment utilized for analysis
Enter results of analyses into a LIMS computer database system
Conduct all analyses responsibly, following all safety procedures to protect all employees and the site
Research and validate methodologies and conduct internal validation studies
Provide technical support to the chemistry team

It may be necessary to stand for long periods of time, up to 4 hours
The Analyst may train other personnel, as authorized by the Lab Manager
The Analyst will interact with customers, as authorized by the Lab Manager
