Field Technician - K-12 Kitchen

Food Safety Solutions Inc. is the exclusive distributor of the nation's leading School Food Service Safety and Sanitation Program - SFSPac® providing Food Safety Site Audits, Food Safety Education and Supplies to Public School Systems in the Mid-Atlantic since 2000. We are seeking a Food Safety Field Specialist to provide our SFSPac® and Dishmachine Detergent Programs to current customer school districts in local western Maryland and Virginia school kitchens. We are first and foremost a food safety education company providing "over-the-shoulder training" to our sites. Managerial/Supervisorial experience plus detail-orientation is a "must" to allow great success and fun in this job.

The person we are seeking will be professional, have a positive and upbeat attitude, strong work ethic with a commitment to serving customers (internally and externally). Each Specialist follows a nationally-designed food safety audit and education program. They will also provide materials and supplies as part of their regular visit.

Once trained on our programs, and with practice, this person will also enjoy educating, training and coaching customers in small and large group settings (mostly small levels initially) on topics related to the programs that we provide. This candidate should have hands-on technical ability; light mechanical/electrical/plumbing are used to occasionally install, troubleshoot and repair our dispensing systems. Training will be rpovided through classroom and on-the-job. All Specialist become Servsafe Instructors and teach small and large groups, after training and coaching. This is an independent, daily "road-warrior" position and home-based.

Days seeing customers usually begin between 6:00 and wrap up between 2 and 4pm. (Travel time may be separate in some cases.) Weekends and evenings are off with the exception of Food Shows and conferences that we may attend twice per year. Summers are spent doing periodic maintenance and education with our customers.

The Compensation for this position will include starting salary of $40,000/yr., company vehicle for business use, business credit card account, cell phone/pda and uniform items. Healthcare (HSA) and dental is available as a shared expense. Vacation and matching 401K are part of our long-term commitment to each other.

Excellent driving record and FBI background check required for our contracts in elementary school environments. Random drug testing is an active part of our company policy. Ability to lift 50lbs regularly is mandatory. Ability to work in and around a dishmachine environment a requirement.
