Job Description/Responsibilities

The Gas Compression Field Leader is in integral component to the safe and reliable operation of the station and gas system alike. The field leader provides the single point of contact between operations and several business partners (engineering, project management, etc.) and our customers within Gas Control, storage and transmission. The Field leader provides and leads regular communications between the areas to communicate and resolve potential deliverability impacts to minimize and prevent risk to the gas system and to our customers.

  • This position provides planning, direction, regulatory compliance and oversight to assure safe & reliable operation and maintenance at the Company Gas Compression facilities in a cost-effective manner.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control areas such as quality systems, safety and compliance, site readiness inspections, customer interfaces, and policy & procedure applications.
  • Initiate and lead project initiatives or change implementation efforts to improve results.
  • Manage and inspection of contract work to include field verification of work completion to contract specifications.
  • Leaders in this role have the ability to perform effectively and efficiently in routine and non-routine/emergency situations with minimal guidance.

Qualifications

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, evaluation and supervision of employees assigned to the operation, maintenance and construction of activities at the Gas Compression headquarters.
  • Recommends proposed changes and enhancements to systems and facilities operation; responds to complaints and requests for information; prepares and maintains reports of completed job orders and the status of jobs in progress.
  • Inspects job sites to check on work progress, assures satisfactory completion and assists in the development of work orders for new work assignments; prepares requisitions for operations and maintenance supplies, equipment and materials and supervises special projects as required.
  • Conducts regular safety meetings, participates as a member of safety committee; investigates and completes necessary incident reports and accident reports; maintains records, prepares and submits required reports for appropriate agencies.
  • Implements preventative maintenance programs.Facilitates and fosters a team environment while maintaining the necessary boundaries to ensure structure in running the business.
  • Regular attendance is expected.

Hours and Travel

  • Position requires the individual to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with a majority of the time spent in the office or within the compressor station.
  • Individual needs to be willing to work additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines or as activities require with very short notice to do so.
  • Individual should be willing to participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Individual may have to work outside of assigned headquarters to help with gas system stability which may require overnight stays.
  • Potentially work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the customer, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Individual must have a valid driver’s license.
