As a member of the DFX (design for manufacturing) team, you will have direct impact in the creating solutions for the complex problems that directly impact final quality, cost and delivery of AR/VR products. You will define and implement manufacturing process best practices with respect to the design of our products. As a key member of the Technical Operations team, you will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering and our Manufacturing partners to provide manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are manufacture-able from concept to mass production.

  • Partner with Product Design (PD) to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges by following best DFX practices and principles
  • Develop manufacturing processes and equipment at the factory and drive assembly line fixture qualifications - line layout optimization and balancing, throughput requirements, fixture requirements and development, critical dimensions on parts and critical requirements in assembly
  • Develop new or improved manufacturing processes through application of theoretical and practical engineering to enhance product quality and production efficiency
  • Drives all factory-related operational issues related to final assembly processes during pre-production builds through mass production and end of life
  • Provides production support engineering with respect to technically complex assembly procedures, testing methods and failure analysis
  • Provide direction, guidance and resources to other engineering groups and factory technicians
  • Ability to travel to Asia Pacific region
  • 5+ years in engineering roles with experience in product design and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of GD&T and experience creating tolerance analysis from assemblies and part level drawings
  • NPI (New Product Introduction) and manufacturing operations experience
  • NX or Pro E CAD experience
  • Working knowledge of optics principles as related to CCD cameras and optical alignment
  • Experience in automation/machine design for high precision manufacturing
  • JMP/MiniTab competency
  • Clean Room experience
