job summary:

Our client is currently seeking a Data Architect for a REMOTE 6 month contract to hire opportunity located anywhere in the eastern time zone.Summary:The Data Architect is responsible for developing information architectures and complex data models, and approves the modification, and new implementation of database systems. This individual works closely with end users and IT development staff to ensure that new and existing data models and databases are consistent with approved data architecture standards. The Data Architect will be a member of the Software Engineering team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in addressing the business needs of a large-scale customer service center.Responsibilities / Tasks:- Participate with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives- Provide thought leadership and lead innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, and implementing technologies to create/improve service offerings.- Work with customers, stakeholders, business analysts, developers and technology teams to elicit the data requirements to achieve project objectives, delivery dates, cost objectives, quality objectives and business customer satisfaction.- Develop data lifecycle management strategies utilizing industry leading concepts and methodologies to facilitate operational business needs.- Convert business processes, domain specific knowledge, and information needs into coherent, and effective overall data architecture including conceptual, logical and physical data models.- Explain and document the trade-offs between proposed solution and viable alternatives.- Prepare and propose standards and templates for documenting data definitions, data structures, and data quality.- Work on deliverables, such data analysis, data models etc. with minimal to no guidance from Development Manager or senior developers. Assist junior members of the staff by providing direction on customer requests and performing code review to ensure quality outcomes.- Contribute towards the development of the next generation of products, including the creation of Proof of Concepts for technologically complex projects.- Actively participate and contribute in SDLC activities such as solution design, work effort estimation, assisting peers with technical challenges and code reviews.- Create/modify artifacts and deliverables expected from the SDLC and change management process such as project charter, proposed solution documents etc.- Perform other duties as may be assigned by managementRequired Skills and Experience:- 10 years of experience in data architecture, design & management.- 5 years demonstrated hands-on experience in data analysis, data migration, database design, data integration, data warehouse and, data modeling.- 5 years demonstrated hands-on experience in physical database design, transactional databases using major RDBMS such as Oracle, MYSQL and MSSQL.- 5 years demonstrated hands-on experience with data modeling tools (e.g., erwin).- 5 years demonstrated hands-on experience with SQL programming, store proc, and analysis of execution plans.- 5 years demonstrated hands-on experience with data analytics.- 5 years demonstrated experience developing and delivering large complex solutions in a sizeable enterprise.- Hands on experience in developing and implementing data architecture and complex data models for operational and data warehouse applications- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.- Advanced knowledge of Informatica, OBIEE, DAC, Linux Script, and Power BI.- Must be able to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment, and must demonstrate the ability to successfully execute multiple complex tasks simultaneously; as well as the ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently.- strong analytical skills and strong communications skills, both written (with emphasis on technical documentation) and verbal is required.- Ability to work independently on any size project.Other Desired Skills- Experience building data solutions in the Cloud (AWS, Azure).- Experience implementing system solutions in the Private health insurance industry.- Knowledge of policy governing the Health and Human services programs such as Medicaid, CHIP, Long Term Services and Child Support.- Experience working on state MMIS systems or implementing system solutions to support Integrated Eligibility (Medicaid.
