If you have an interest in owning the end-to-end design and development of complex data solutions at scale, this is the right opportunity for you.In this role, you will work on a green field project in a new fast growing and multi-disciplinary global team with large ambitions to connect people around the world.You will be responsible for building from scratch a high performance and scalable data processing, management and analysis solution that handles terabytes of data gathered from millions of devices around the globe. Your work will ensure that key product decisions for features, customer insights and operational performance are made with the right data at the right time, while protecting user privacy.You will work on this unique zero to one project in the fast paced consumer mobile space and solve some of our most challenging problems at the intersection of massive data processing, deep analytic understanding, and user privacy.

  • Drive vision and data strategy for this new Messenger product area
  • Design, build and own an efficient data processing architecture and system for data management with associated ETL pipelines, dashboards and experimentation metrics
  • Design and build core datasets that can service a wide range of business needs
  • Build data anomaly detection and quality checks that proactively protect the integrity of data
  • Define and build privacy preserving policies and features for data
  • 7+ years experience in the data warehouse space with technologies such as Netezza, Teradata, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Data Warehouse or similar
  • 4+ years experience with writing complex SQL and ETL processes
  • 4+ years experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • 4+ years of development experience in an object-orientated language
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics or a similar technical field
  • Knowledge with Python or Java
  • Experience working with mobile app performance data
  • Knowledge of cryptography, differential privacy, anonymity and other techniques to protect user privacy
  • Experience effectively collaborating with a broad range of audiences and communicating complex technical concepts
