- Systems Engineer in the Autonomy & Site Technology Area.
- The primary role of this position is validation testing, deployment and troubleshooting of outdoor wireless (Wi-Fi and/or LTE) networks for Client autonomous and remote-control product operation.
- This position will also have responsibility to integrate wireless equipment into Client machines including Electronic Component testing, collaboration with harness and product engineers to ensure standard, approved designs are followed.
- Activities would also include documenting test plans and results, creating training material, and maintaining dealer and customer facing documentation.
- A typical day is generally very dynamic and could include:
- Troubleshooting external or internal production customer wireless networks.
- Testing new wireless hardware and software.
- RF analysis/troubleshooting.
- Partnering with other engineers to analyze and troubleshoot end-to-end systems including on-board routers, cameras, harnesses, radios, etc.
- Opportunities to travel (global) to customer sites for pre-deployment site outdoor wireless assessments and/or assisting customers in troubleshooting outdoor wireless networks.
- Working on and around heavy construction and mining equipment.
- Working with your hands physically installing equipment on mobile trailers and/or heavy machinery.
- 802.11, route, switch, WLAN, and network security competency
- Working understanding of RF spectrum analysis and management
- Technical assessment and troubleshooting skills.
