ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN IV (0UEWS-20-1069-W): Bowhead is seeking Engineering Technicians to perform as Field Service Representatives (FSR), Technicians will be deployed on LCS class ships providing Mission Control Station (MCS) support for the FireScout UAV. Travel involves being underway up to 50% of the year, up to 3 weeks at a time. Essential functions of the Engineering Technician include: • Ability to work with common hand tools including but not limited to crimpers, strippers, soldering irons, drills, and other various tools associated with installing, repairing and replacing various types of cables and lines • Demonstrate experience in reading blueprints and interpreting schematics and reading precision measuring tools • Ability to work directly with both internal and external programs/projects and personnel • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences • Ability to work in a high tempo fast paced team environment while keeping a cost, quality, schedule and safety approach • Engineering Technician must have the ability to multi-task and the ability to switch focus from primary job in order to support any and all aspects of testing to ensure the overall mission is accomplished Bowhead seeks to network with qualified individuals relative to a potential opportunity, which is contingent upon award and not currently funded. Requirements • High School diploma and Seven (7) years of experience in applying engineering services to maritime, launcher, missile, manned, unmanned, robotic, weapon, or weapon control system components and assemblies. This experience includes developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance, and assisting engineers in inspecting products, conducting tests, and collecting data. • Previous military experience preferred • Must have knowledge and experience of software-based instrumentation and the ability to learn new software in order to complete testing at hand • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a teamSECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. ship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
