Job Description

Twitter’s purpose is to serve the public conversation. Hundreds of millions of users come to Twitter every day to see and discuss what’s happening in the world.

Our teams’ purpose is to directly drive the development and evolution of the product infrastructure and services that serve the public conversation on Twitter. We partner directly with product teams to build out new product features, own critical technical infrastructure, and think ahead to lay the technical groundwork for future product innovation.

Who we are:

Our teams love using the latest backend and frontend technologies for all features on Twitter, such as Tweets, Fleets, DMs, Live Broadcasting, Media, and more. We build rich experiences that create new forms of content and improve the mechanics and comprehension of conversations on Twitter.

On this team you have the opportunity for significant ownership and impact over major user-facing features that hundreds of millions of people love to use.

What you’ll do:

As part of the team, you’ll work closely with smart, passionate peers on backend infrastructure on Twitter-scale infrastructure. Your peers will consist of engineers (across backend, client, and machine learning), product managers, designers, and all the multi-functional partners that make Twitter work. And ultimately, your work will directly impact the lives of every Twitter user.

You will build and own product infrastructure to maintain and evolve the way people use Twitter. This team owns critical services that underpin the core Twitter product across all of its surface areas. The team’s work is both deep and broad: Tweets underpin the foundation of many product initiatives, and our ambitious company plan will require significant product changes to the core ways people create and consume Tweets.
