POSITION SUMMARY:

The

Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling production in an organizational manner to ensure safety, quality, delivery, inventory and costs are met on products that are produced effectively, efficiently, on time, within budget and in compliance with our customer expectations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and coach direct reports on all aspects of the operation
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvements
  • Follows and stays current with customer requires quality systems procedures and customer specific requirements
  • Coordinates accumulation of APQP documents and assists with appropriate PPAP submission
  • Reviews Capability Analysis of Control Charts including monthly Pareto analysis of all SPC data and review of Control Charts
  • Overall authority to disposition suspect/rejected product
  • Customer concerns: Develops courses of action for alleviating and resolving concerns
  • Interfaces with both customer and subcontractors as required in such areas as: APQP, Part Number Control Plans, PPAP
  • Acts as a central customer contact for assembly manufacturing leaders
  • Reviews the daily shipment requirements and notifies the appropriate leader of deficiencies (check shipments for accuracy and assists with the bill of lading as necessary). Assists to ensure correct product ships
  • Reviews customer orders for large changes and adjusts vendor releases accordingly, if unable to make delivery date, notify Customer and Operations Manager/Business Unit Manager
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of the entire material process.
  • Schedules presses and assembly operations as necessary
  • Enters purchase orders and customer pricing on the mainframe as necessary
  • Responsible for the creation of all new AR’s on the mainframe
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection & testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities & products
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality
  • Participate in meetings and negotiations with customer, programs, and concerned functional management
  • Reviews control of nonconformance material disposition and re-inspection of reworked product
  • Document control of manufacturing and quality documents including distribution/removal of obsolete forms and work instructions. Distribution of prints.
  • Monthly reviews of all data books and sample boards with the Quality Inspector. Sample board update
  • Oversees the creation of measurable charts for QOS reporting
  • Directs and coordinates quality inspection of parts, components, and material produced by subcontractors and vendors. Participates in surveillance of subcontractors’ manufacturing processes and control subcontractor performance system
  • Directs sampling inspection and testing of received parts, components, and materials to determine conformance to standards and customer requirements
  • Reviews quality problems with engineering personnel and assists with action required to correct defect. Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, subcontractors’ quality system, schedules, and rejected items
  • Direct contact for customer quality related issues
  • Serves as liaison between Customer and ITW.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality

Qualifications

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 3+ work experience in manufacturing
  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook, IMES a plus
  • Root cause analysis, SPC knowledge, technically able to utilize measuring equipment and gages
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and influence others
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds repetitively
  • Work normally requires a low level of physical effort in bending, stooping, lifting, and manual dexterity
  • Computer/telephone use is moderate
  • Occasional travel to attend meetings as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time is essential, frequent walking
