As an important member of our engineering team, you will provide full life-cycle technical support for the design, development, testing and implementation of precision measurement test and manufacturing systems.
Senior Controls Engineer:Responsibilities…- Design, implement and document controls systems (electrical, software, pneumatic, hydraulic) for various types of automated equipment
- Conduct the electrical/hydraulic pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up and machine validation with the appropriate build and electrical teams
- Ensure that equipment is designed and programmed to customer and/or BTI's build specifications using standard techniques and approach
- Mentoring of junior engineers
- Participate in the development and maintenance of internal BTI specification
- Technical management of controls architecture of assigned projects as they relate to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction
- A bachelor’s degree from a 4-year College/University in related engineering field
- 6+ years of experience designing software packages utilizing PLCs and/or HMIs
- 6+ years programming any of the following types of robots: Fanuc, ABB, Kuka
- 6+ years of experience designing electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic schematics
- Willingness to travel an average of 40%; domestic and international travel.
- Experience with automation systems used for manufacturing (PLCs, HMIs, Servo Motors, and Communication Networks)
- Experience developing schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience working within the Allen Bradley and Siemens ecosystems
- Understanding of IEC-61131-3 based languages
- Knowledgeable in the theory of, configuration and operation of motion control systems
- Develop and implement designs from functional specifications
- Experience debugging and commissioning on shop floor and customer site
- Experience solving problems in fast-paced environments
- You have experience with Python or a similar high-level language
- You have experience with SQL databases
- You have experience with SCADA systems
- You have experience with current plant specifications of automotive manufacturers and suppliers

- Willingness to travel up to 60%; domestic and international travel.
