- Analyze, evaluate, design, develop, integrate, debug and test real-time AR and VR software for advanced optical prototypes and user experiences
- Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solutions
- Develop algorithms, demos and engine integrations for novel display devices in research
- Write clean readable code, debug complex problems that span systems, prioritize ruthlessly and get things done with a high level of efficiency
- Work with unfamiliar hardware at the SDK level to integrate systems together
- Learn constantly, educate others, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving
- BS degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Optical Science or related field
- 5+ years of C/C experience, including C11 (and up) features and principles
- 5+ years of experience creating, extending, integrating and maintaining real-time 3D engine systems such as graphics rendering, audio, physics, networking or animation
- Fluency with 3D mathematics and applied linear algebra
- Proven understanding of modern graphics pipelines
- Knowledge of fundamentals of computer architecture, for example CPU data caching, SIMD instruction sets, and compiler code generation
- Experience shipping one or more products using standard software development toolsets such as source control and continuous integration systems
- Experience using a complex game engine such as Unity or Unreal Engine
- Experience implementing advanced 3D graphics features such as lighting, effects, shaders and other low-level systems
- Experience with raytracing
- An understanding of optical science fundamentals
- 3D graphics APIs such as DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulkan
- Developing AR/VR applications
