Preferred Locations: St. Louis, MO; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA; Mason, OH; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; Indianapolis, IN; Chicago, IL; Bus Info Developer: The Bus Info Developer is responsible for assisting with the development and execution of data mining analyses to enhance reporting functionality and identify data relationships and patterns in support of commercial finance and actuarial pricing teams. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Uses program languages to write queries to extract data and synthesize for use in reporting and data analysis.
  • Establishes knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, related programming languages and data integrity issues.
  • Creates and publishes periodic standard reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports and analyses.
  • Assists with user acceptance testing and regression testing as needed; collaborate with data warehouse and IT teams to support data quality and keep data stores maintained and relevant in our ever-changing industry
  • Performs data reconciliations, variance and impact analyses; researches cause and effect of data issues identified; develops solutions to remediate detected problems.
Bus Info Developer Sr.: The Bus Info Developer Sr. is responsible for developing and executing complex data mining analyses to enhance reporting functionality and identify data relationships and patterns in support of commercial finance and actuarial pricing teams. As compared to the Bus Info Developer job, this job is focused on complex data mining analysis including the design and execution of programs to extract data. The majority of the time will be spent programming. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Develops and executes data mining analyses.
  • Uses program languages to write queries to extract data and synthesize for use in reporting and data analysis.
  • Develops new and standard reports utilizing data warehouse information.
  • Establishes and maintains strong knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, related programming languages, and data integrity issues.
  • Creates and publishes periodic standard reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports and analyses.
  • Develops and supports data warehouse-related applications for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables.
  • Conducts training on use of applications developed.
  • Assists with user acceptance testing and regression testing as needed; collaborate with data warehouse and IT teams to support data quality and keep data stores maintained and relevant in our ever-changing industry.
  • Performs data reconciliations, variance and impact analyses; researches cause and effect of data issues identified; develops solutions to remediate detected problems.
Qualifications Bus Info Developer:
  • Requires a BS/BA degree (prefer Statistics/Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance/Accounting, Computer Science, Information Management/Data Science, Bus Admin or MBA); up to 2 years of related analytical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Experience with programming/query languages required.
  • PC, spreadsheet (Excel), database skills and standard business information tools preferred.
  • Experience using query tools to manipulate large data sets and experience using statistical software preferred. Tools used will primarily be Teradata SQL Assistant and SAS Enterprise Guide (PROC SQL, SAS DATA Step Procedures, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SAS MACRO language, SAS Viya, OLAP, R, Python, Hadoop, Teradata, SQL Server, VBA, RPA, and familiarity with BI Tools such as Power BI or Tableau is beneficial, but not required.
  • Health Insurance knowledge/experience is beneficial, but not required.
Bus Info Developer Sr.:

  • Experience using query tools to manipulate large data sets and experience using statistical software preferred. Tools used will primarily be Teradata SQL Assistant and SAS Enterprise Guide (PROC SQL, SAS DATA Step Procedures, etc.).

Applicable to Colorado Applicants Only Annual Salary Range: $60,560 - $90,840 Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level. The hourly or salary range is the range Anthem in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
