Job Title: Assistant Dock Manager

Reports to: Dock Master

Type: Hourly wage. Seasonal, full time. Fall, winter and early spring is part time

Hours: In season, April-Oct 40-45 hours, Off Season, 35-40 hours

General Description: Lead assistant position with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

Open/Close marina store to include batch out of cash registers.

Daily dock walks to report accountability for boats, slip availability and condition of docks and boats.

Assist customers to dock and depart to include handling & tying lines.

Monitor customer ramp use.

Customer service and assistance in person and by phone.

Cash register transactions – purchases, returns, payments on account and internal payouts.

Fuel dock transactions.

Summer slip requests, including transactions, billing and spreadsheets.

Seasonal slip/transient reservations spreadsheets and billing.

Boat Rental reservations, payments, check-in and check-out.

Summer and winter storage on land quotes and contracts.

Store shelf labels & parts labels.

Maintain a clean and well supplied workspace.

Maintain well stocked coolers and vending machines and food sales/coffee areas.

Sell small Mercury engines using standard contract when parts dept. is unavailable.

Light administrative duties.

Light General cleaning duties of general facilities/grounds

Monitor and use fax, copier, email, Microsoft Excel and Word.

Use the VHF and radio.

Oversee/assist and train as required Dockhands during operational hours and while the Dockmaster is away.

Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Implement update and maintain SPM website and all social media and advertising platforms as directed, as well as provide input.

Assists other departments when necessary. Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Job Skill Requirements:

Must be 18 or over with a valid driver’s license.

Ability to read written instructions and hear oral instructions.

Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word.

Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift 25 lbs and work safely on a ladder or around water.

Ability to work independently, with an eye for detail. Must be trustworthy and dependable with a solid work ethic and organizational skills.

Experience with boats is a plus.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

College courses in a business major is a plus.
