  • Work side by side with research software engineers to understand their software tool pain points, prioritize solutions and create the systems and tools that turbocharge their work
  • Build software, tools, infrastructure, documentation, and other systems that enable research scientists to be more effective and efficient
  • Coordinate with a large set of internal infrastructure and tool teams across the lab and across Facebook to evaluate and integrate with existing systems
  • Educate researchers and other team members on software engineering best practices, tips and techniques
  • Write clean readable code, debug complex problems that span systems, prioritize ruthlessly and get things done with a high level of efficiency
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years experience creating tools used by other software professionals, such as compilers, version control systems, build systems, code editors or linters
  • 3+ years C/C experience, including C11 (and up) features and principles
  • 3+ years experience with one or more high level scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Perl, or PowerShell
  • 3+ years experience administering, extending, integrating and maintaining build systems such as MSBuild, CMake or Buck
  • 3+ years experience administering, extending, integrating and maintaining continuous integration systems such as Jenkins or Bamboo
  • 3+ years experience administering version control systems such as Git, Perforce, Mercurial or SVN
  • Experience in Windows or Linux system administration
  • Experience in Windows or Linux shell scripting
  • Experience in GitHub and GitHub Enterprise
  • Experience in Facebook infrastructure systems
  • Experience in Web programming
