Payroll specialist part time

OPTIONS Family of Services has an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist.

Based in Morro Bay, OPTIONS Family of Services, a local non-profit organization, strives to help people with intellectual disabilities meet their wants and desires as citizens within their community. We serve 200 people from Paso Robles to Santa Maria. Daily, we improve the lives of those we serve.

Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for carrying out specific accounting department functions of the organization including, but not limited to: payroll and accounts payable.

The ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys working with and alongside other people. Must be passionate about learning and be a team player with a "can do" attitude; the ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential. You will directly contribute to our success by providing professional level, payroll support that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature for the company.

Successful candidates should have:

Education/Experience: a AA in accounting, though experience in the accounting field may be substituted. Strong English oral and written communication skills are also required.

Other Skills/Abilities: attention to detail, ability to successfully complete First Aid/CPR, and Driver Safety training. Must have a valid California Drivers License with 3 years driving experience and a driving record acceptable to OPTIONS' insurance company. Must also have a clean criminal record and receive clearance from DOJ and FBI.

Physical requirements: Essential functions of this position require that employees regularly sit, stand and walk. Employees may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 20 lbs.

This position is part time 16 hours per week on Thursdays and Fridays.
