Job Description

We are searching for an experienced Web Developer to support our primary customer, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Web Developer is responsible for creating or updating responsive based sites or portals based on site maps, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs using standards/compliant (and Section508) HTML5/CSS3, and JavaScript. The web developer will work closely with the UI/UX designers as well as the platform team to identify ways to effectively implement and develop within the platforms’ requirements.

Qualifications

  • 4-9 years' experience using front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3 and SCSS
  • Online portfolio or examples of past work that showcase your skills technically and aesthetically. Potential candidates must submit a portfolio (websites) and be able to explain their specific contributions to each project.
  • Experience developing responsive design websites and possess an understanding of mobile-first design concepts.
  • CDC and/or HHS web development experience is a plus
  • Experience either hand-coding responsive email templates or customizing templates within the marketing automation system
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into pixel-perfect web pages.
  • Proficient in Photoshop

Bonus Points if you have:

  • CDC web development experience
  • Experience with grids, flexbox, frameworks, and cross-browser testing. Working knowledge of Linux operating system
  • Experience across the Software Delivery Life Cycle working to understand Business Requirements, Design Solutions, Build and Test Capabilities, Train Users, and Deploy Solutions
  • Exposure to working within a DevOps team and/or software development principles and processes as well as Agile development and code repositories.
  • Knowledge of custom JavaScript component libraries and frameworks such as LWC, Aura, Angular.js or React.js.
  • Experience with OpenSource CMS’ such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.

Location:Candidates able to regularly work in the Atlanta office are preferred. The Atlanta office has not reopened and local candidates will not be required to come into the office immediately.
