Classic Transportation provides Stretcher, Wheelchair and Ambulatory transportation to/from hospitals, facilities, and homes for medical patients across the state of Oklahoma. For this role, we are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) that will serve as part of our two-person stretcher teams. Our EMTs assist the Stretcher Van drivers by navigating the stretcher or wheelchair to and from the van at the pick-up and drop-off locations. In addition, they ride in the back of the van with the passenger during transport assisting the passenger with minor needs.

This is what you will do:

-Assist van drivers in picking-up and dropping-off passengers, maneuvering them from door-to-door.

-Provide simple assistance to Passengers during transport, as necessary.

-Take Passenger/Patient paperwork from facility at pick-up and ensure it is delivered appropriately at drop off.

-Assist in transferring Passengers to or from stretchers and wheelchairs.

-Operate van wheelchair lifts, as needed.

-Communicate with Dispatch team, as necessary, about the Passenger, transport, or other relevant information.

-Maintain the quantity and quality of equipment supply in the Stretcher Vans.

-Report any incidents or accidents that occur to the Business Manager.

-Adhere to company policies, protocols, and values.

These are the qualifications you have earned and skills you have developed (required):

-Current license by the State of Oklahoma as EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate

-BLS Certification

-FEMA’s NIMS 100, 200, and 700 Certification (can be completed post-hire)

-Valid Oklahoma driver's license with clean driving record

-Ability to assist in lifting, pushing, pulling and maneuvering Passengers loaded on stretchers or wheelchairs.

-Work may require sitting, near vision use for reading, computer use and technical procedures, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, reaching, and other physical exertion.

-Must be able to lift and carry 70 lbs.

-Access to internet-enabled mobile devices

-Effective communication skills, both written and oral

-Must possess visual acuity to operate a computer terminal, operate a motor vehicle (day and night), and read.
