Lead Data Engineer MARINA DEL REY, CA 6 months CTH Remote You will be working closely with our software engineering and analytics team in designing and implementing our data warehousing solution. You will be working in a multi-cloud environment that is funneling data from multiple sources into our data warehouse. You will be given the opportunity to put your knowledge and experience to work as you help employ the best designs to handle the ingestion and storage of our production data. In addition, you'll be in an authoritative role of expanding our data warehouse that will empower our business units to make critical decisions that will impact our future growth. Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for maintaining our current Snowflake data warehouse as well as helping to revamp our data structure with our ever-increasing complex and modern systems.
  • You will be working closely with other engineers and our business partners on ensuring that we're capturing all requested data into our data warehouse.
  • You will be advising us with redesigning the data structure as our company expands into new business opportunities.
  • You will be expected to be the lead data engineer responsible for designing and solving data related issues, including the ingestion of data from both internal and external production systems.
  • You will be writing out new and updating existing Fivetran connectors between Snowflake and our production systems.
  • You will also be assisting our analytics team in managing and data migration of our BigQuery Data Warehouse.
  • You will be responsible for reporting on project progress and will be responsible on production systems maintenance.
  • You will also assist us with evaluating future data warehousing needs and toolset to improve our reporting needs.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • 4+ years of experience with data warehouse technical architectures, ETL/ELT, reporting/analytic tools, and scripting.
  • 3+ years of data modeling experience and proficiency in writing complex SQL with mySQL.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL.
  • Experience working in SQL and noSQL databases.
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, RDS, Data-pipeline, Lambda, etc.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python.
  • You are proficient at tuning database queries.
  • Experience independently building out data new solutions and solving complex data issues, with a curious drive toward constant improvement.
  • You should have great communication skills and experience coordinating with both business stakeholders and software engineers.
