Our large, information-based professional association seeks a team-player to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: ALA s Association Management Systems (AMS) and related components, E-Commerce Systems, Financial System, and Database Administration. This position will also work with ALA Membership, Conference Services, Publishing, and Human Resources staff managing and monitoring their installed systems. The IT Software Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting Web Services and data integration with our multiple eCommerce systems, Drupal systems, OLTP, basic Unix support, SSO (Single Sign On) Shibboleth, iMIS query and processes support, installations, upgrades, security, maintenance, recovery, configuration, database integrity, performance tuning, for databases and database applications and other production systems and their integrations, as well as Data Warehouses/Data Lake, ETL and Business Intelligence infrastructure. Will consult with staff regarding the creation of new reports or procedures working in iMIS (ALA s membership database), GP Dynamics, E-Commerce, and Prophix. Assist staff in data extraction and presentation of the data in a standardized format as well as developing a format to meet their needs; and assist users with database applications. Will maintain user authentication and permissions. This position will take a lead role in the maintenance of database servers and database/application interconnectivity, in particular interaction between the SQL databases and web applications. Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field with at least five to seven years relevant experience with Enterprise and Web Based Software systems running on Microsoft SQL server and MySQL databases. Will have had experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting with most of the following: Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2016 Database Administration, iMIS, GP, Shibboleth, Linux, IIS, Apache, PHP, and Microsoft SSRS. Looking for a solid background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
