SRE ( Site Reliability Engineer)

Location: Seattle, WA / Remote About this roleAs a Web Performance Engineer, you will work closely with system owners to evaluate and recommend performance improvements for our guest facing platforms. You are obsessed with performance optimization and will work at a code level to optimize JavaScript, CSS, HTML and other elements. You are eager to evangelize the benefits of performance and mentor developers and product owners throughout the organization. Performance data analysis is your hobby. You will report to a Lead Web Performance Systems Engineer as an integral member of a small team dedicated to evangelizing the value of application performance across the Enterprise. We create in-house tooling, work with vendors, establish best practices and implement improvements as necessary. You will sit with individual product development teams to assist with and directly implement performance improvements at a code level. We have a great team that works together to achieve goals cross functionally and you will interface with development, configuration management, program management, project managers, etc. Our team is always looking for feedback from peers and management when and wherever possible. You will be empowered to request and participate in team meetings, understand & review the current technical risks and engage with team members to work towards common goals. RequirementsEssential Completed Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related experience. 3 or more years’ experience in a Web Performance Engineer role Expertise in web communication technologies (HTTP, SSL, Headers, Cookies, caching) Expertise in node.js, React, JavaScript, CSS and HTML5 optimization Expertise in Web Performance data analysis, including waterfalls and Lighthouse reports Optimization of web applications in AWS environments Important AWS platform and Github Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services Following agile sprint development cycles using JIRA /Confluence or similar platform Analyzing test results and creating recommendations reports Experience working on Akamai platform, familiar with Edge Workers Ability to create and modify web performance testing tools Google Web Core Vitals and Lighthouse Maintenance of Adobe Launch for vendor script management Using analytics tools to calculate dollar value of performance improvement
