Spectrum Services Group, Inc. (SSG) is a federal contracting firm servicing military installations, clinics and hospitals nationwide. We are seeking several nurses for the Clinic and Emergency Room at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.

Job Description - LPN

1.0 QUALIFICATIONS

o Education: Accredited LPN nursing school Certificate

o Experience: 12 months in the last 36 months. Experience performing care and treatment of

patients; operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment; properly administering oral and

parenteral medications; conducting paraprofessional portions of physical examinations; or assisting

in medical treatment of patients in accordance with established procedures and protocols, within

the LPN scope of practice

Certifications:

o ACLS, BLS,

o License: Current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice as a LPN in any state

o Security Clearance: Must have a clear background in order to pass the security clearance

o Familiar with organization structure and operation methods of Air Force a plus, but not a must

o Possess excellent written and oral communications skills. Effectively use correct grammar and

spelling in all written communications.

2.0 DUTIES

Initiate, perform and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.

Complete assigned patient care based on the patients’ conditions, use judgment in selecting the

appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report

and record relevant patient information.

Observe, identify and respond to the patient’s needs for care, including medication, equipmentassisted

care and patient/family education.

Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or

intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.

Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance of the RN and/or MD/DO, and

initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.

Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures,

which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling

specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient’s condition

before, during, and following the procedure.

Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of

practice.

Integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery,

education of patients and their families and employee satisfaction.

3.0 WORK HOURS

Must be available for rotating schedule, open 24 hours a day. Schedules are given a month in advance for planning purposes.
