EDI Customer Support Specialist

We are looking for an EDI Customer Support Specialist. This is an eight (8) months contract position with high possibilities of extension in Raleigh, North Carolina with our client. In this role as an EDI Customer Support Specialist you will work closely with internal and external teams/clients to gather and document customer requirements, as well as evaluating all current vendor and customer EDI profile data for completeness and accuracy. Additionally, you will have responsibility to ensure all intended outbound and expected inbound EDI documents are successfully sent and received including reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, ensure current EDI trade partner profile information data is complete and up-to-date, and manage the associated risks involved with missing or inaccurate EDI data.

Responsibilities for an EDI Customer Support Specialist:
  • Ability to cultivate relationships across functions in order to achieve business objectives
  • Concise verbal and written communication with trading partners (customers and vendors)
  • Clear and detailed documentation of requirements, test plans and project summaries
  • Take ownership and act as subject matter expert for the trading partners and escalate issues as necessary
  • Review and resolve trade partner EDI transaction errors in a timely manner
  • Identify trends in EDI failures and make recommendations to trade partners and teammates on a permanent solution to failures
  • Request setup, configurations, and validation with new EDI trade partners
  • Report on and validate EDI communication with EDI trade partners
  • Involvement in test planning and validation of new or modified EDI transformation maps
  • Daily EDI production support and troubleshooting
  • Reconciliation of EDI business documents using Microsoft Access and Excel and Oracle APEX database tools
  • Data entry, export, reporting and analysis across multiple systems
  • Recommend enhancements to expand on process efficiencies
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials
  • Prepare and submit weekly status and KPI reports
  • Must demonstrate good organizational and follow-up skills and work independently with minimal supervision, including ability to balance multiple tasks

Required Skills as an EDI Customer Support Specialist:
  • 3+ years of EDI work experience, including minimum 1+ years of retail experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information and write business correspondence
  • Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight schedules
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel formulas and functions
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure; calculate gross margin and markup; and, compute ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs
  • Proven analytical skills and use of data query tools
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Software required, as is the ability to quickly learn and use job specific computer applications including EDI specifications
