The Scrum Master will direct the daily activities of multiple delivery teams that support, enhance, and develop enterprise systems for a federal government customer. Their daily responsibilities include the following:

  • Organizes and facilitates project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
  • Tracks and communicates team velocity and sprint/release progress.
  • Maintain process documentation.
  • Ensures that the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
  • Assists as needed with backlog maintenance.
  • Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Assists with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs.
  • Assists the team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
  • Participates proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Identifies and removes impediments and prevents distractions.
  • Facilitates discussion and conflict resolution.
  • Empowers the team to self-organize.
  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
Required Skills
  • Holds active Certified Scrum Master certification from Scrum Alliance or similar accredited organization
  • Holds active SAFe certification
  • At least 6 years of IT experience on systems development projects, preferably with experience in development roles
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Scrum Master role
  • Experience leading multiple, parallel Scrum teams
  • Experience guiding customers in adoption of Agile and DevOps principles
  • At least 2 years of experience using Agile work management tools to manage the Agile process
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Eligible for government clearance
Desirable Skills
  • Prior experience in implementing Agile / Scrum development practices in the Federal Government.
  • Prior experience in web development roles, especially .NET development experience.
  • Federal Government Public Trust clearance
