Their experienced team of growers, plant scientists, engineers, and innovators are passionate about deeply understanding and developing this new wave of technology to feed an ever-growing population. They are a well-funded startup company with headquarters in San Carlos, CA, and greenhouse facilities in Gilroy, CA, and Lockhart, TX.

Job Duties:
  • Support the build-out, bring-up, and continuous improvement of automation systems in their new indoor robotic hydroponic farm in Lockhart, TX
  • Perform functional tests, including validation of electrical wiring and automation logic, on systems interfacing PLCs, remote I/O, HMIs, Linux systems, and industrial robots
  • Act as the primary contact for control system issues in the farm
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines (both hardware and software) as well as growing, product, and operational teams
  • Update as-built engineering documentation including electrical schematics, Bill of Materials, I/O lists, and commissioning logs
  • Leverage real-world experience with our automation systems to propose and implement design improvements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 3+ years experience working with automation systems
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems in automation controls context including switchgear, control circuits, and I/O interfacing
  • Strong PLC programming skills
  • Excellent hands-on troubleshooting skills
  • Solid understanding of industrial networking protocols and configuration
  • Experience supporting control systems in a high uptime manufacturing or process environment
  • Experience using Electrical CAD software such as Solidworks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or EPLAN
  • A passion for tackling unfamiliar challenges and getting your hands dirty
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with 6-axis robotic arms (FANUC)
  • Experience with Beckhoff PLC systems
  • Experience with industrial safety systems
