Director of Culinary Operations - Year Round - Full Time

- Menu & concept development (including trend analysis & local procurement)
- Procurement strategy including the support of all master procurement programs
- Development of the culinary leadership team
- Menu engineering and profitability analysis
- Development of a strong food safety culture
- Work with Directors and GM’s to achieve all financial targets
- Conduct monthly food and direct supply inventories
- Works with Directors and VP to develop a business unit sustainability strategy
- Understand and ensure team compliance with regulatory requirements and department/company policies and procedures.
- Other duties, as assigned
- Ten (10) years of high volume, multi restaurant leadership experience with a proven track record to taking organizations to industry leading positions required
- Culinary degree preferred
- Knowledge of fine dining, full service, fast casual and quick service and banquet operations including industry trends required
- Decision making and problem solving
- Leadership and communications skills
- Ability to purchase goods to meet fluctuating volume
- Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with SSRC’s Service Excellence standards.
- Ability to problem-solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers.
- Ability to be a consistent role model for company’s Service Excellence standards
- Ability to communicate clearly in the English language
- Must be able to ski at an advanced intermediate level (min level 7) to get to on mountain restaurants
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be able to stand in kitchen environments for long periods of time
- Must meet SSRC minimum driving standards and have current Driver’s license; a successful motor vehicle record background check is required.
- Willingness to certify on a snowmobile and snowcat

- This is a salaried exempt position and is not subject to overtime pay

The base salary pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation salary pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat area base salary pay range: $86,000 - $145,000 per year
