- Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and customers
- Illustrate design ideas using wireframes, storyboards, diagrams, and sitemaps
- Engineer and implement their own UI/UX designs as fully functional features
- Demonstrate ownership of the culture of human centered design and engineering best practices within the company and their teams
- Design, develop and engineer fully functional User Interfaces and front end features.
- Work with back end and front end engineers to ensure UX is implemented as planned
- Design graphic user interface elements, including navigational menus, data visualizations etc.
- Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and what they look like
- Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches, digital wireframes)
- Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
- Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
- Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
- BS Degree and minimum of 5 years related experience. Degree should be in design, computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline. Five (5) years’ experience may be substituted for degree.
- Expertise with wireframing, color schemes and tones, typography, human centered and responsive design
- Expertise with JavaScript, ES6, React, HTML5, XHTML, CSS is necessary to uphold engineering best practices
- Must be a “team player” and have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical users and use good client-facing interpersonal skills (i.e., comfortable and effective acting as liaison between multiple technology groups)
- Self-Starter that can work under general direction
