Our work depends on a Functional Analyst joining our team to support our customer, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) activities at Baltimore, Maryland.At GDIT, our people are at the center of everything we do. As a Functional Analyst supporting CMS Program Integrity Modeling and Analytic Support Contract (PIMASC), Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS), you will be trusted to work on specific technology and data science tools to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) across the Medicare and Medicaid programs.The Functional Analyst will be responsible for providing on going analytics and identifying issues related to a variety of non-technical and technical project deliverable(s); as it relates to requirements determination, conceptualization, design, development, testing, verification and validation, documentation, and implementation. Conducts research and analytical studies on a variety of programs and issues; coordinates and expedites reports and program; develops procedures; formulates recommendations and prepares reports. Conduct organizational analysis and evaluations, to determine functional requirements, conduct work simplification and measurement studies, and prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.In this role, a typical day will include:Maintain, and support the development of applicable project-related artifacts including (but not limited to) model specification documents and model presentation PowerPoint slides ensuring all materials are well written and checked for errors.

Interact with the Fraud Prevention System User Interface daily and provide feedback to management on any important changes or updates.

Interact with internal and external stakeholders including business owners, developers, and scrum team members.

Analyzes user needs to determine functional requirements for a wide variety of projects.

Work closely with our technical data modelers and management to ensure adequate progress is being made across all our work streams.

Conducts functional testing of various projects or systems.

Researches, identifies, and assists in the formulation of recommendations about resources required for task execution and completion.

May provide guidance to less-experienced analysts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:BA/BS (or equivalent experience) in computer or information sciences, 1-2 years of professional experience as a functional / business analyst.

Experience using MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of results.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in Medicaid/Medicare or other CMS healthcare related field preferred.

Experience with fraud detection a plus.

Experience working in an AGILE work environment including scrum meetings and sprint planning.

Experience with JIRA or equivalent AGILE project management tools.

Experience with document sharing in Sharepoint or equivalent file sharing platform.
