About the Role The DevOps Team plays a critical role in keeping the production and development environments running smoothly and securely. As part of a small team, the DevOps Engineer will be wearing multiple hats in a highly visible role interacting with all aspects of the business. This role assumes willingness to think like an owner, helping move projects along, provide technical advisory capacities and be pro-active in continually automating and scaling our environment. Responsibilities- Act as infrastructure architect who understands DevOps principles and automation, with a strong understanding of networking, AWS best practices and CI/CD strategies
- Act as Kubernetes expert and lead
- Improve operational efficiency by automating manual tasks to reduce support workload
- Wear an SRE hat, helping to troubleshoot performance and deployment issues as well as improving our monitoring strategies
- Write and update self-service tools used internally by developers.
- 6+ years of DevOps or SRE experience with at least 2 years of AWS experience
- Microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) experience in a production environment is a must
- strong Linux OS-level and command-line/scripting knowledge and configuration management principles?
- Able to code in Python or Ruby?desired
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to design and implement complex, but easily-managed, automated infrastructure
- A desire to share, teach and learn as part of a team
