OverviewThe Senior Inventory Accountant assists the Accounting team in establishing and maintaining an organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures. This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller.Key Responsibilities
Assists the Accounting team in producing accurate and timely financial statements
Ensures the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Researches and analyzes fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts
Answers financial related questions from venues throughout the month and acts as main accounting contact for assigned venues
Prepare and vouch quarterly audit schedules and support
Assists with Revenue accounting
Reconciliation of Inventory, including research of any variances with Procurement Department, warehouses and venues
Researches Purchasing Card discrepancies and coding issues
Develops, enhances and implements accounting and finance procedures and documentation of data flow
Recommends system and procedural controls to ensure data integrity
Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations each period/quarter as assigned and scheduled
Prepare and review standard and recurring journal entries. Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in a timely and accurate manner
Assist with fiscal year-end financial reporting and audit requirements
Works as a liaison with Procurement to reconcile PO’s and other inventory and warehousing matters
Support and assist Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller on any special projects and reports
Reviews, analyzes and determines that the company's assets are properly accounted for and safeguarded from loss
Customer Support – internal and external: liaison between operations, management and executive end users and the Finance department. The position also interfaces with external customers such as bank partners and vendors
Participate in system implementation of new or revised systems. High energy and enthusiasm, with a strong commitment to exceeding expectations
Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments, projects, and roles, including but not limited to, Fixed Assets, Tax and Construction
Ability to learn quickly; make an immediate impact, and provide value-added service
Strong communication & interpersonal skills, displaying the ability to connect and build relationships with colleagues

Maintain confidentiality with regard to all information being proposed and developed

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
2+ years experience preferred
CPA preferred
Restaurant or multi-unit retail industry experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Intermediate/Advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, Access
Ability to work and research/resolve issues independently while sharing best practices and knowledge with colleagues
Ability to organize/manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business questions and needs
Experience using Report Hub and Microsoft Dynamics Navision a plus
