Job Title: Desktop Support SpecialistLocation: Austin, TX 78731- Must be already local to the areaJob Type: Contract, possible contract-to-hireTo Apply: Send resumes with Desktop Analyst in the subject line to tamara.chambless@gts-ts.comPay Rate: $20/hr GENERAL DESCRIPTION Provides complex computer systems support in installing, configuring, and supporting the agency's desktop computing environment. Provides input to others in planning, designing, installing, testing, and maintaining complex hardware and software systems on desktop computers, laptops, workstations, and peripheral equipment including printers, scanners, etc. Position may also require non-standard (on call) business hours for trouble-shooting support to diagnose and address issues in the agency's desktop computing environment. Plans, coordinates, and provides advanced technical expertise in the development and support of the agency's Information Technology workstation, desktop, laptop, tablet, and other similar intelligent computing devices. Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Establishes work plans and priorities to achieve set objectives. This is an 80% percent hands on work environment, 20% of the work can be performed via remote session and telework. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE Education – Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electronics, or related field. Substitution Note: Additional work experience of the type described, or other related education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.Experience – Minimum of four (4) years’ progressively responsible experience in desktop support.
