Mission:Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems that meet the needs of both internal and external customers.- Supervise and lead software engineers and testers, both employees and contractors, ensuring best practices around software development
- Oversee the design and development of software applications and data products
- Manage teams in day-to-day performance, ensuring that project/department milestones and goals are met
- Mentor and develop software engineers and testers, working to grow their technical skills for individual and company gain, creating an environment committed to continuous improvement
- Manage team members; non-technical needs, including performance reviews, goal setting and professional development
- Work with the team to develop estimates for designed work
- Track and monitor metrics for productivity and quality
- Ensure that all team members have the tools and artifacts required to be successful
- Proactively drive and deliver ongoing improvements in Engineering team quality and performance
- Run agile ceremonies when appropriate; actively participate in all relevant agile ceremonies
- Develop expertise in market segment and data concepts
- 7+ years experience in software engineering
- 3+ years of demonstrated success in technical leadership and product delivery using agile processes
- 3+ years of demonstrated success in employee leadership, mentorship, and development
- Proven track record of team delivery on time, to specification, and under budget
- The ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a globally distributed delivery setup
- 3+ years web application development experience; preference for Python and AngularExperience developing with relational database; experience with NoSQL technologies is a plus
- Experience developing API’s and RESTful architectures in particular
- Experience with production cloud systems; AWS experience is preferred
- Experience developing with formal testing frameworks
- Expertise in common GitHub developer practices and paradigms
- Fluent verbal and written language skills
