Job Title Network Security EngineerLocation Norfolk, VAClearance SecretSalary $95-100kJob Description:The candidate should be able to have experience configuring and managing enterprise firewalls and gateway devices, working with the following tools: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, LAN/WAN concepts, Application firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, Linux/Unix and Windows.Key responsibilities:

  • Be proficient in the configuration and troubleshooting of IPS and IDS devices.
  • Be proficient in the configuration and troubleshooting of VPNs and IPSEC, and Cisco ASA devices.
  • Experience with command line interfaces (CLI).
  • Experience with Cisco ASDM or other firewall management interfaces.
  • Planning, engineering, and monitoring the security arrangements for the protection of the network systems.
  • Identifying, monitoring, and defining the requirements of the overall security of the system.
  • Creating different ways to solve the existing threats and security issues.
  • Configuring and implementing intrusion detection systems and firewalls.
  • Testing and checking the system for weaknesses in software and hardware.
  • Maintaining firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols, and email security.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, VoIP Systems)
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including Software/Firmware, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work to enhance configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
  • Monitor and maintain network capacity and performance.
  • Maintain complete technical documentation including developing, maintaining network diagrams with Visio, creating SOP's or updating existing SOP's.
  • Responsible for design and engineering of IP and IP security of national data centers.
  • Work with cross functional teams to communicate the engineering design plan in support of the development and deployment of network plans, upgrades and enhancements.
  • Provide capacity management of currently deployed IP Security devices and links.
  • Work with new architectures and product introduction to make them standard implemented solution in the network.
  • Assist other Network Engineering teams in the analysis and diagnosis of problems.
  • Current on IP and security products, standards and practices.
Qualifications:
  • Must have active Secret (SSBI) clearance
  • Must have BA/BS and over 2+ years experience or related IT experience.
  • Must have experience configuring and managing enterprise firewalls and gateway devices, working with the following tools: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, LAN/WAN concepts, Application firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, Linux/Unix and Windows.
  • Must be onsite in Norfolk, Virginia
