OVERVIEW

We are Boston area Internet publishing company. We are working on two startup projects that have a need for a social media ad manager, starting with Facebook Ads, later expanding to other paid social media platforms.

1) The first company / project is travel related and specific to the Boston area. We are planning to launch a Kickstarter shortly in an effort to raise funding for a new tourism/travel related guide series, the culmination of several years of research on travel / tourism in the Boston area. The target market for this project is big with an estimated 10-20M viewers on FB in the Boston area alone.

2 ) The 2nd company is a 15-year old art publishing company that ran from 2001-2016. It was an e-commerce business that is being restarted/rebranded as a publishing (blog, podcast). The business possesses an enormous inventory of unique “Americana” art/historical imagery. It also has a Facebook page that has the capacity to bring in over 1M followers in the next 1-2 years. FB ad tests have been bringing in new likes at a rate of 1,000 every few days. The target market on FB for this business is much greater, global in scope with a potential target audience of > 100M FB members.

We are looking for someone who has a broad range of paid social media ad skills. And someone to help us begin our social media advertising with Facebook ads, but later can expand to other social media platforms as appropriate.

Your passion about history, art and/or previous experience in history / travel writing would be a big plus

We wish to begin our paid ad campaign by doing some testing to start. So not looking to jump in with a huge budget and someone who requires a large monthly retainer or multiple month commitment. We are looking for someone who can work with us, grow with us as we ramp up our paid social campaign and build on tests/experiments we have been running for several months into meaningful LT campaigns to build followers. You will see / agree that both projects have a solid foundation and potential. Both are cool/fun/interesting to a broad audience.

We’re looking for someone who can be considered part of our “team” not just someone looking to ad another account to their portfolio.

DUTIES

The candidate should have experience in scheduling posts/ads as well as an understanding of digital marketing—both paid and organic. They will have an understanding of the social landscape, platform analytics and metrics to produce reporting that helps inform program optimizations and overall strategy.

Note: Looking for an experienced Facebook Ad Manager to start. You don’t need to have all of the below experience. This is just a general list of skills /experience that would be helpful toward the completing the overall job successfully. The more the merrier and would increase your value to our brand / paid effort in the LT.

SKILLS

2+ years of marketing/social media management experience.

Previous experience in Digital Marketing.

Writing Facebook ads

Engaging with customers on social media

Demonstrated experience building and growing social media communities.

Good Knowledge of the following social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter TikTok and YouTube, both as a marketer and user.

Strong writing, editing and communication skills, including understanding the nuances of writing for the different social media platforms.

Ability to gather data and analyze results.

Ability to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines, and adhere to brand identity and editorial standards.

Ability to work collaboratively with other teams and colleagues at all levels across the organization

Able to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Stays up-to-date with the latest marketing trends, techniques, and technologies

Possesses a strong eye for premium aesthetic

Able to learn quickly and collaborate with the marketing team

Energized by an entrepreneurial environment – not afraid to do things themselves to get things done. Comfortable managing own activities with limited oversight and resources. Self-reliant/proactive and has a pioneering spirit.

Takes individual initiative and follows-through on commitments to achieve results

Hands-on, self-motivated and able to work well and respect others as team player

Expert level knowledge with the following social media platforms:

- Facebook (business + ad management)

- Instagram (reels, stories, IGTV)

- LinkedIn (ads and Sales Navigator a plus!)

- Twitter

- TikTok / YouTube

- Pinterest

Familiarity with the following platforms and tools:

- Slack

- Project Management

- Social media management systems such as Sprout Social, Spredfast, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, etc.

- Marketing software and online applications such as Shopify, Graphic asset creation tools (e.g. Photoshop/Illustrator/Canva), Adobe Premiere Pro/Rush, Microsoft Office, online analytics, Google Ads

- Making and posting videos using Promo

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Required Field of Study: BS degree in social media, marketing, communications, media relations or a related degree from an accredited university (or a personal portfolio equivalent of past proven successes).
