Assistant /Associate Professor, Emergency Medicine - HospitalistTexas Medical Center-Houston, TexasFacultyMcGovern Medical School at UTHealthRequisition #: 200000XQMcGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time, Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Hospitalist.Position Key Accountabilities:Responsibilities as a member of the Hospitalist Team will include providing:

Clinical service at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center

helping administer and potentially supervise medical care to acute hospitalized patients.

Clinical care, education of students and residents, and scholarship. The

exact mix of these responsibilities will be determined by your interests androle, subject to the department's needs and the approval of the departmentchair.

Participation in all departmental activities including meetings and teaching

conference is expected.

Participation in the Department's teaching activities including both the medical

student and house staff educational programs; your participation in our didacticconferences, seminars, lectures, case presentations; and your enthusiasticsupport of our Department's professional activities.Our service has a traditional block schedule with 7 days of clinical duties followed by 7 days of non-clinical time. This does include nights and weekend coverage which is distributed across all of the clinical team members. We have geographic rounding structure to support subspecialties, in addition to traditional medical patients in both a supervisory role for some of our teams and independently.Qualifications:Candidates must be Board Certified or Board prepared; and be licensed to practice in Texas or eligible to be licensed.About Houston:Houston is home to stunning landscapes, historical landmarks, endless outdoor activities, a vibrate theatre district and professional sport teams.
