Delivery Driver

Insuring quality and loading product for delivery. Complete in home deliveries by installing product to the satisfaction of the customer. Responsible for safety, vehicle maintenance, and inventory security.

Direct reporting to and supervision from the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Functions

Inspecting merchandise to insure customer satisfaction before the loading process begins;

Accounting for and recording each delivery line item on the Dispatch Track tablet during the loading process;

Loading the vehicle to secure merchandise, prevent damage during transit and expedite the delivery process;

Securing the merchandise loaded on the truck as well as all company owned property in the truck;

Driving a company vehicle to deliver merchandise or render service to a predetermined locations;

Delivering and setting up merchandise in customer's home to the satisfaction of the customer;

Capturing before and after photos of the delivery on the Dispatch Track tablet;

Recording the customer's signature, concerns and/or comments on the Dispatch Track tablet;

Calling the warehouse manager to report any problems or concerns the customer might have so appropriate action will be taken;

Performing minor touch up in the customer's home;

Obtaining the customer's signature on the delivery ticket;

Maintaining contact with the delivery department to receive delivery instructions or report concerns;

Reporting back to the warehouse to unload; tag appropriately any merchandise returning;

Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle (cab/box, fold pads, hang ties) daily;

Inspecting truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, Diesel exhaust additive, oil, and water to insure safety and proper maintenance of the vehicle;

Performing routine or simple maintenance on the vehicle as well as its tools and supplies;

Maintaining vehicle log according to state and federal regulations;

Assisting Visual Merchandiser with Floor moves and resets;

Following safety guidelines and reports any unsafe happening or concern to warehouse manager immediately;

Performing other related duties or special projects as assigned;

Required Education/Experience/Abilities/Skills

High School diploma or GED equivalency certificate;

Valid Driver's License with F endorsement and a maintained clear and safe driving record;

DOT health card or ability to obtain one;

Commitment to Bassett's "Vision and Values" at all times;

Ability to:

Safely drive a 24 foot delivery truck (automatic transmission);

Navigate through the delivery area;

Work in an organized and safety conscious manner;

Work as a team with an enthusiastic attitude;

Use a wireless tablet, or other Bassett system driven device;

Effectively communicate with co-workers, management and customers;

Read, understand and write the English language;

Lift and move products weighing up to 70 pounds without a lifting device;

Lift and move products in excess of 70 pounds with an approved lifting device;

Walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, use and/or control tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear, and see up close, in color, depth and distance vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
