TITLE: Java/J2EE Software Engineer Location: Chicago, ILAs an experienced member of our Software Engineering Group, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. - The Technology organization is building up new teams for a new cloud native green field initiative. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the implementation of a Next Gen Client facing Platform that will serve the firm for the years to come
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Strong knowledge/Experience of architecture and design across all systems
- Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages, specifically Java
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Passionate about building an innovative culture
- Able to work in a high paced environment
- Ready to work with multiple teams, stake holders and business
- Quick learner and proactive aptitude to support a professional
- Solid programming experience in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot
- Experience building REST and SOAP web services using Java
- Strong understanding of OOP & SOA principles, design patterns, industry best practices
- Experience with unit testing like jUnit and mock testing tools mockito
- Experience with build tools like Maven, Gradle.
- Experience with building messaging, event-driven architectures
- Experience with relational database platforms
- Experience working in a fast-paced financial services/digital focused delivery environment
- Experience in cloud technologies - developing micro services using Spring Cloud Stack, Docker, Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes technologies is a plus
- Experience with development of cloud-native applications is highly desired
- Experience with build & deployment tools like Maven and Jenkins
- Familiarity with GIT, JIRA, BitBucket and similar tools
- Experience working with Scrum/Agile methodologies
