Find your future with us.Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Structural Analysis Engineer to join us as part of our MQ-25 team located in St. Louis, MO.The MQ-25 is a new autonomous, unmanned carrier based refueling air vehicle. The MQ-25 program is working the Engineering and Manufacturing Development of 7 flight vehicles and two full-scale test articles for the Navy. The Airframe team is responsible for the design definition and structural analysis of the major structural components of the vehicle. The MQ-25 design includes metallic substructure components, carbon fiber reinforced skins, and uses advanced assembly techniques for its state-of-the-art build.Structural analysis, or strength, engineers support the build by analyzing required design changes, assisting in disposition of nonconformances, and preparing for the full scale static and fatigue tests. The MQ-25 uses a model based design engineering release process, and product data management tools. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the first vehicle production and testing process on a new franchise platform.Position Responsibilities
- Perform basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
- Support test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
- Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
- Works under general supervision
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics
- 1+ years' experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis
- Experience with design and analysis of metallic and composite materials
- Experience in mechanical fatigue analysis
- Experience with NX computer aided design tools
- Experience working with computer aided design such as CATIA, Solidworks, or Siemens NX
- Experience with Finite Element Models (FEM)
