About the Program

Coos Crisis Resolution Center (set. 2003) is a 6-bed, licensed, short-term Residential Treatment Facility providing crisis resolution services and an alternative to emergency, short-term psychiatric hospitalization for those patients whose illness allows them to be treated in a residential setting. This program is located in a residential neighborhood and yet is situated almost directly across from Bay Area Hospital and conveniently close to other community services.

Position Details

We have two Full-Time openings for Residential Associate positions at our Coos Crisis Resolution Center program in Coos Bay, Oregon. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving for a client experiencing severe mental illness, then this position might be a good fit for you.

Work Schedule:

Sunday - Thursday, 3:00pm-11:30pm (Swing)

OR

Wednesday - Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm (Swing) and Saturday & Sunday, 11:00pm-7:30am (NOC)

This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness; to support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions; perform housekeeping and meal preparation; medication administration; and keep accurate clinical documentation. In addition, you will receive crisis de-escalation training, which requires performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques.

Qualifications

MUST be QMHA Certified through Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO)

MEET eligibility qualifications to register with MHACBO

State of Oregon QMHA credentials criteria:

a) Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science: Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;

b) OR minimum 6,000 hours verifiable mental health experience working with Severe Persistent Mental Illness population in a supervised social service setting;

c) OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training

Successful applicants MUST have a valid Oregon driver’s license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

Starting at $15.00 per hour/DOE and QMHA credentials. An additional $1.50 per hour graveyard shift differential will apply during the work hours of 10:00pm - 6:00am.
