Summary / Objective
The Licensed Practical Nurse performs delegated duties under the direction of a Medical Doctor, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, or Registered Nurse to address physical and psychological activities of daily living for residents and actively participates in rehabilitation programs to support care.
Essential Functions
1. Prepares, administers, and documents oral and intramuscular medication. Initiates and maintains intravenous therapy. Ensures that there is an adequate supply of medical/treatment supplies.
2. Takes pulse, blood pressure, respirations, temperatures, and documents on flow charts as required.
3. Performs medical treatments such as dressing changes, catheter irrigations, wound care, enema, first aid treatment, and application of assistive device.
4. Assist residents with care needs such as grooming, toileting, and dining.
5. Assist residents with escorting of residents to medical appointments. Performs other duties as assigned.
6. Participates and adheres to administrative policy/procedures regarding safety, infection control, orientation, and education services.
7. Documents all required nursing/medical forms appropriately. Transcription of physician’s orders to medical/treatment records.

In this position, you may be asked to supervise or assist Certified Nursing Assistants.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses medical equipment as well as standard office equipment.
This position involves inside work with no exposure to weather conditions. Exposure to infectious diseases may occur. May be asked/required to work overtime or alternate schedules.

Must be able to lift heavy objects or work in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time temporary position. Hours fluctuate.
Travel
Required to travel to obtain identification cards, and/or attend training.
Required Education and Experience
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
