Personal /Activities Assistant (Part-time | 20 Hours | New Haven)

A family is seeking a professional with a special education/teaching and/or occupational therapy background to work as a Personal/Activities Assistant for their adult daughter with special needs who lives in New Haven, CT.

Responsibilities:

- Driving to grocery store, bank, CVS, etc. to assist with daily errands

- Work as a job coach for 4 hours per week in a retail setting assisting their daughter

- Some cooking and meal preparation

- Assistance with medications and apartment chores

- Plan and participate in fun activities on the weekends

Qualifications:

- Warm, nurturing, supportive personality

- Must be responsible, reliable, timely.

- A genuine interest in and professional experience working with someone with special needs

- College education

- Excellent verbal communication skills

- Stellar driving record

- Safe, reliable transportation

- Ability to work 20 hours per week in a flexible, adaptable schedule that may change somewhat week-to-week
