Assist with resolving supplier payments as needed. Take an active role in coaching the Accounts Payable Representative I & II staff in an effort to enhance productivity, accuracy, and efficiency amongst the team. Perform various projects at the request of the department Supervisors and Managers. Job Responsibilities: Manage accounts payable portfolio of higher profile accounts to ensure highest level of service by researching and resolving issues related to invoices, prepayment, cash discount, pricing and receiving to ensure proper recognition of liability and payment.

Research and resolve accounts payable accrual items. Maintain reporting for AP department including received not invoiced purchase orders, outstanding checks and vendor holds.

Proactively implement process improvements.

Research, analyze, and resolve situations in a timely manner.

Assist with guiding, supporting and actively coaching the Accounts Payable Representative I & II staff.

Train new/existing employees on the department’s processes, procedures, and guidelines.

Effectively communicate and correspond both internally and externally to address & resolve issues.

Assist the department Supervisors and Managers with the day-to-day operations.

Perform UAT for system enhancements as needed.

Aid in development and tracking of team metrics.

Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications: (Required/Preferred-list requirement is required or preferred)

Associates or Bachelors’ degree preferred or equivalent supervisory work experience in an accounts payable environment or equivalent satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform duties

Experience:

2 years of accounts payable experience

System implementation preferred

Knowledge:

Understanding of accounting, reconciliations, and accounts payable functions

Additional training in bookkeeping concepts and procedures preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel

Skills/ Abilities:

Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with internal departments, vendors, and customers

Analytical abilities to perform account research and reconciliations in order to resolve account disputes

Ability to prioritize workload in a highly fast paced office environment

Ability to analyze and resolve supplier payment opportunities accurately, promptly, and in a professional manner

Ability to support and coach a clerical staff in a professional manner

Ability to work in a team environment and handle workload changes as they occur

Ability to recognize and formulate change for areas of improvement in order to increase productivity and efficiency

Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:

Some travel may be required

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment

Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday

Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
