Title:Procurement SpecialistKBR has an immediate need for an energetic and dynamic Procurement Specialist at its Sioux Falls, SD location. KBR, headquartered in Houston Texas, is the primary contractor to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for performing work at the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center near Sioux Falls, SD.Job DescriptionThe Procurement Specialist’s role is to facilitate the requirements coordination, document preparation, communication, tracking, and disposition of both USGS and contractor-specific procurement activities. This person is responsible for requesting cost estimates, writing and overseeing the preparation of the procurement package, and researching and answering questions, as needed.Candidates must be highly motivated, well organized, have excellent communication skills, and have a strong teamwork emphasis. Candidates must also be able to integrate into a highly skilled Information Technology Team and work under the supervision of the Lead Procurement Specialist.This position description does not include every duty or responsibility the employee may be asked to perform and does not restrict management’s right to assign/re-assign duties and responsibilities to this position as circumstances dictate.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Develop and follow standard operating procedures for both USGS and contractor-specific procurement activities.

Develop and maintain all types of procurement documentation.

Request and analyze cost estimates for content and price.

Provide technical expertise and guidance on procurement activities.

Update the appropriate procurement tool and complete all procurement follow-up activities, as required.

Provide procurement and cost reporting as requested.

Communicate effectively with management, vendors, and peers.

Provide continuous effort to improve procurement activities, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with others in order to provide quality customer service.

General awareness of IT hardware and software is beneficial, but not required.

Requirements :

Associate’s degree in Business or a related discipline preferred. A high school diploma coupled with additional specific experience equivalent to that of an Associate’s degree may be accepted.

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hire to obtain a badge for facility access and user accounts.

The candidate must have prior 3 year U.S. residency
