You will support the physicians and nursing staff inthe delivery of health care by performing a variety of medically related tasks.The LVN supports the physician andnursing staff in the delivery of health care by performing patient careassessments, and a variety of medically related tasks. The LVN is a licensednurse who works in an ambulatory care setting to perform and provide nursingservices.ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

Greetpatients and provide an initial nursing evaluation.

Managespatient care flow and takes a leadership role within the suite.

Preparepatients for provider by reviewing current medications and record inmedical record.

Takeappropriate vital signs and record in medical record.

Setsup exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs.

Assistprovider in examination/procedure rooms as needed.

Performdesignated diagnostic tests as directed by provider.

Draw,prepare designated lab work and/or specimens as directed by provider.

Administerimmunization, injections, oral or IV medications as directed by provider.

UsePRN/Smart Talk systems to convey lab results to patients as defined byprovider.

Assistin follow-up scheduling needs.

Answerpatient calls in timely fashion.

Preparecharts as needed, including filing into appropriate sections of medicalrecord and assures that all pertinent items are available to providerbefore patient care commences.

Handlesall designated clinical care telephone interactions with provider input.

Communicatesall significant clinical findings to MD.

Servesas an advocate for patient and utilizes appropriate resources.

Actsas a role model in providing care; precepts new staff.

Provideorientation and training for new clinical staff.

Recommendareas of improvement.

Servesas liaison with other departments, facilities, and hospital.

Assessworkflow of suite MA and schedule accordingly, covering absences,illnesses, and breaks.

Providereview of MA skills and performance abilities using designated evaluationtools.

Counseland provide corrective actions as needed with input from Lead Nurse.

EducationalRequirements:

Graduate of an accredited LVN Program.

License/CertificationRequirements:

Current CaliforniaLVN licensure.

IV Therapy &Blood Withdrawal Certification.

Basic Life Support(BLS) certification from AHA (American Heart Association and/or AmericanRed Cross).

Experience:

Five (5) or more years of Internal Medicine experience inoutpatient preferred

Proven customer service and patient careskills.

Understanding of patient care flow andinsurance concepts.

Ability to correctly set up examrooms/procedure rooms using sterile/aseptic technique with appropriateinstruments or trays.

Ability to prepare patient for officevisit/procedures.

Ability to correctly perform vital signsand accurately document and record significant data.

Ability to correctly prepare labwork/specimens for pick up.

Ability to perform designated testing andspecimen collection.

Understanding of cleaning, sterilizationof autoclaving procedures.

Ability to determine current medicationsthat patient is using and record accurately.

Basic understanding of pharmacology andmedication administration including oral, SQ, IM and IV medications.

Basic ability to perform and record QCtesting on designated equipment.

Ability to problem solve and prioritizework assignments.
