The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.Job Description:This position will allow the Student to assist in the laboratory environment. Position will include performing various validation activities during various stages of a Product Launch. The Student will have the opportunity to interact with various Program customer groups. In this position, the Student will aid the validation group on performing tests and other miscellaneous tasks.Primary Job Responsibilities:

Assist technicians with test setups

Perform test activities per specifications provided

Post process test results and write reports

Storage organization of components

Transporting of test parts from lab to lab and to various suppliers

Etc.

Primary Skill Requirements:

Enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree program

Candidate must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw

Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks

Oral and written communication skills

Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

Basic trouble shooting skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Word / Powerpoint is preferred

Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters

Up to 40 in the summer

Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA

Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits)

Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
