Accountant

DescriptionRobert Half Finance & Accounting is working with a local construction organization to find an experienced Accountant to join their team in Southern Colorado Springs. The Accountant will be responsible for administering month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, in-house payroll, clerical duties, full cycle A/P, bank reconciliations, and journal entries. The Accountant will be a key team member as the sole accountant for the organization of approximately 70 employees. Business license and gross receipts summarizing

Alternative special projects as requested

Plan monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

Produce subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

Supervise monthly accounting close

Assemble cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

Categorize sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

Accomplished in credit card management and reconciliation

Sustain Accounts Payable

Handle Accounts Receivable

Enter budget transfers

Create cash flow projections, as needed

Requirements

3+ years of related experience - Significant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred

3+ years of A-Z accounting experience - payroll tax, sales tax, cash flow, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end, financials

Certified Payroll experience a plus

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
