DescriptionMike Cox (Mike.Cox@Roberthalf.com) of Robert Half, Finance & Accounting is currently partnered with a high growth client in Culver City who are looking to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a highly critical position for the business as it will be positioned to make a big impact on the organization. As the Controller, you will be supporting the Co-Founders and they are looking for somebody that can bring a best in class” approach to the accounting processes, policies and procedures, a strategic thinker as well as a “roll your sleeves up” attitude to the business.The Controller will manage the monthly and quarterly close process including financial statement reviews, as well as instilling new internal processes and controls. You will be responsible for strategically driving the company by being a true business partner to the Founders.You will oversee the Accounting department, impacting general ledger, inter-company, consolidation, financial reporting and related processes.To be considered you will have a minimum of 10 years accounting and at least 3 years management experience including previous experience in controllership/Accounting function, preferably in the eCommerce, Consumer Packaged Goods or food/beverage industry. This is a fast paced company who has experienced extremely high growth. A foundation of public accounting/Big 4 experience is beneficial but not required.You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

High attention to detail

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

Strong familiarity with month end closings

Month-end Financial experience highly desired

Command of Annual Inventory

Practical knowledge of CPA

Comprehensive knowledge of CPG

Adeptness in Month-end Reports

Foundational knowledge in Month-end Close Activities

General familiarity with Microsoft Excel

Demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
